Prof. Verônica Teixeira Franco Castelo Branco has a degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Ceará (2002), a master's degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2004) and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Texas A&M University (2008). Since 2009 she has been Professor at the Department of Transport Engineering at the Federal University of Ceará (DET/UFC), currently Adjunct III, and permanent professor at the Graduate Program in Transport Engineering (PETRAN/UFC), currently vice-coordinator of this program, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Since March 2012 she has been a CNPq Research Productivity Scholarship (PQ) Level 2. She was a research assistant at the Texas Transportation Institute (College Station, TX) from August 2004 to October 2008, having worked on projects funded by Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Asphalt Research Consortium (ARC). She is currently coordinator and/or researcher of projects financed by Petrobras, CNPq and Funcap. Has experience in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis on characterization of paving materials, acting on the following topics: use of recycled materials in asphalt mixtures, evaluation of mechanical properties of asphalt mixtures, use of Digital Image Processing (PDI) for characterization of paving materials and rheology of fine asphalt mixtures. She is interested in the following related areas: materials science, chemistry, environmental engineering and engineering education.
