DET - TRANSPORT ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Laboratories

Currently, DET has four laboratories, three of which are from the research groups, namely: GTEMA, LMP and LRI, in which most of the research and extension projects are developed with the work of researchers and undergraduate and graduate scholarship holders and a teaching laboratory, the LAG. To find out more about each one, click on them.

PETRAN - Graduate Program in Transport Engineering is linked to the Department of Transport Engineering - DET, of the Federal University of Ceará - UFC, being one of the 10 departments that make up its Technology Center - CT. The CT / UFC. PETRAN's masters and doctoral classes are formed, preferably, by full-time students, divided into the areas of concentration of Transport Infrastructure and Planning and Operation of Transport Systems. The academic background of the candidates is not restricted to the field of Engineering, being able to participate in the selection of professionals graduated in related areas such as Economics, Administration, Architecture and Urbanism, Geography, among others. Over the past few years, PETRAN has consolidated itself as an important regional center for teaching and research, with its students and teachers reaching prominence in the national transport community. Most of the activities of these professionals are concentrated in the Pavement Mechanics Laboratory - LMP, in the Transport, Traffic and Environment Research Group - GTTEMA and in the Logistics and Infrastructure Networks Group. Research Group on Transport, Traffic and Environment

GTTEMA has physical infrastructure installed in an area of 120m2 in DET and equipment in operation that totals more than R$ 100,000.00, the group has been working in the lines of "urban traffic management and control" and "planning and operation of transport systems public services”, with a focus on the transport of passengers and urban cargo. It has the involvement of undergraduate students, research grants, extension or scientific initiation. It also has Master's and Doctoral students from PETRAN. It currently has six research professors working more strongly and it should be noted that GTEMA has been a research group that stands out for the training of human resources both in the area of planning and operation of transport systems. Logistics and Infrastructure Networks Group

The LRI is registered in the CNPq Research Directory Lattes, certified by the UFC, having as its origin the Center for Research in Logistics, Transport and Development (NUPELTD/UFC) in 1997.

From 2000 onwards, NUPELTD contributed to the formation of Masters in the Master's Program in Transport Engineering (PETRAN/UFC) with several publications of Dissertations and scientific papers. In 2002, researchers from this group began to be part of the North-Northeast Natural Gas Network (RECOGÁS) developing a project in the Natural Gas area.

The creation of the Master's Degree in Logistics Management (GES-LOG/UFC) in 2004 and its approval by CAPES in 2006 contributed to the formation of the LRI/UFC Research Group, originating from NUPELTD/UFC. CLICK HERE!

The LMP has sought to respond to the demands of public authorities and community and business entities regarding the study and resolution of regional problems in the paving sector. The Group's objective is to provide a solid foundation of knowledge in the structural analysis of pavements and in the characterization and development of paving materials. Aiming to consolidate itself as the main center for research and training of human resources in pavement technology and asphalt materials in the North and Northeast regions, the Group has been developing important partnerships with highway agencies (federal, state and municipal), with other research groups national and international, and companies linked to the production chain of asphalt paving. The LMP/UFC currently leads the N/NE ASPHALT NETWORK, which is made up of 10 universities in 9 states in the N/NE. This NETWORK has been working together with PETROBRAS' Center of Excellence in Asphalt (CEASF) in several actions and research projects, mainly within the scope of CTPETRO, in the area of asphalt paving.
